Whether we like it or not, processing images in software on our computers after we haven taken them, is a reality of getting the best results out of your digital photography. Adobe Lightroom, has become the most widely used piece of software for serious photographers and our Introduction session could be the perfect springboard to mastering this amazing program. Lightroom is an extremely capable platform for sorting, processing and delivering images, specifically aimed at the serious amateur and professional photographer. It has increasingly either taken the place of Adobe Photoshop, or is used alongside it, for faster and more streamlined image processing. Our ‘Adobe Lightroom Introduction’ sessions are special because we not only cover all the things you really need to know in order to start using this software effectively, but also include a fun element of practical shooting with experienced nature photographers. A straight forward, down to earth and easy to understand day of learning suitable for everyone!
After an introductory briefing, we will spend the morning shooting images of some beautiful carnivores at Knowsley Safari Park. Your guide and tutor will go through some shooting settings and ideas with the intention of not only producing great images, but also files that will be suitable for using with the Lightroom tutorials in the afternoon session.
After a relaxed lunch break, your tutor will work through a ‘step by step’ introduction to the key elements of Adobe Lightroom.
Your tutor for these sessions will be Raj Khepar. Raj has been working with Wild Arena for a number of years and is not only a highly talented photographer across a number of genres, but also a skilled user of Adobe programs to create amazing images. His friendly and accessible style is especially popular with guests who are unsure of tackling more technical ideas.
During 3 hours of tutorial over 2 sessions with a break, we should cover the following Lightroom features:
Adobe Lightroom training session 1:
Key wording benefits
Reviewing, rating/flagging and deleting images
Adobe Lightroom training session 2:
Sharpening and noise reduction
Colour adjustment and contrast
Horizons and cropping
‘Dodging & Burning’ tools
Monochrome conversions and pre-sets
Exporting and saving
Whilst Raj will illustrate this points on a demonstration screen, guests are invited to bring along their own computer (a laptop loaded with the latest version of Adobe Lightroom) and follow the steps with the images they have shot in the mornings session.
